Repairing Family
When a person enters treatment for addiction, they will not be the only one who requires help. Addiction impacts families too, and in order to thoroughly heal they must confront the negative effects that the addiction has had on their lives. At A New Day Village Center, we provide family members and loved ones with the support and guidance they need to heal and prepare for the road ahead.

Family therapy is often short-term. It may include all family members or just those able or willing to participate. Your specific treatment plan will depend on your family's situation. Family therapy sessions can teach you skills to deepen family connections and get through stressful times, even after you're done going to therapy sessions. Family therapy is a type of psychological counseling (psychotherapy) that can help family members improve communication and resolve conflicts.
Our family therapy program is designed to give the family a deeper understanding of the disease model of addiction and the challenges that their loved one will experience. We provide an environment where families can speak candidly without having to feel embarrassed, resentful or guilty. A family therapist will provide guidance to:

-
Understand the disease of addiction.
-
Improve communication.
-
Discuss difficult topics.
-
Improve relationships.
-
Resolve conflict within the family unit.
-
Learn coping skills.
-
Avoid enabling behaviors.
-
Provide support.
